New Month. New Book!

Updated: Oct 2, 2022

Before I get into my exciting announcement, I want to share a few reasons why the month of October is special to me.

1. Twelve Months Later

On October 5th, 2021 (1 day after Obi's birthday), I began my Kickstarter to take pre-orders for The Adventures of Super Obi book and other merchandise. I intentionally scheduled it for the 5th because I wanted to celebrate my son's birthday without all the stress of launching a crowdfunding campaign (and boy, am I glad I did it that way!).

Over 1,000 books sold later, and I look back at this year grateful for everything God has done for me as an author and everything I have learned throughout this journey.

2. A National Celebration

Nope, I am not talking about Halloween. October is National Book Month. This month-long celebration focuses on the importance of reading, writing, and literature. As a bookworm and an author, I get excited about all of the ways this month is observed (i.e., starting a new book, sharing an old book, and participating in local activities (the libraries have some great ones). In the world of 5-second videos, it is important to encourage one another (especially the children) to ensure that reading is a part of our regularly scheduled activities. Can I get an Amen?!

Fun Fact: Did you know that Obinna was initially supposed to be born on Halloween (October 31st)? My co-workers playfully referred to my unborn son as Baby Witch Hazel (not cool, lol). But because of some complications, he was delivered four weeks earlier. Maybe Obinna heard them?

3. Introducing Book Baby #3!

After months of adding the final touches and with the help of my book launch team (you know who you are), I am excited to announce that I am taking pre-orders for the latest book I have worked on over the last year (and no, It's not a children's book).
