The Results Are In!

Last month I asked for some feedback by collecting your responses in my Launch Team Survey and you all delivered! I wanted to fill you in on the results and share some plans that I have upcoming based on all of your feedback.

1. When I asked what the ages of your kids are you responded:

I was pleased to see so many of you with children in or around my book's reading age (which is ages 2-8)! And I am sure many of you know some children in that age group. Here's a tip: Don't wait until your kids are talking to read to them. Reading to your children should start as early as possible.

2. When I asked how many of your children's books have a Black character as the main character, you responded:

And the chart above was very similar to the question, "How many of your children's books have a religious theme or biblical stories?". This sample size of data shows me the lack of these characters or stories amongst many home libraries and bookshelves and inspires me to keep writing! This and the responses to my question, "What kind of themes would you like to see covered as part of a children's faith-based picture book series?" floored me with emotion. I was so appreciative of all of your comments on what you wanted to see written, that I was flung into this creative episode of writing notes and ideas of how I could make those topics and themes a reality!

I received requests for stories on family conflict resolution, love, Godly characteristics, kindness and tolerance, healthy sexuality, helping out around the house, self-esteem, etc. just to name a few. Some of you really took the time to write a full paragraph of ideas! Wow, I know some awesome people! Well, as I work on The Adventures of Super Obi, I will work on some parenting worksheets to start covering these topics right here on this blog, and as always, I value your input. Let's all raise some SUPER KIDS together!

If you haven't had a chance to complete the six questions on the survey, don't worry, there is still time! You can access the survey here.

Again, thank you for following my author journey and for all of your feedback and support! If you haven't already, please subscribe to my website and follow me on Instagram and/or Facebook to get all the latest updates on my project and to see what happens next.
